This book is the result of a 1965 international conference sponsored by the University of Wisconsin on the collapse of the peregrine falcon population on two continents. Once the prized favorite of medieval falconers, the peregrine wild population was catastrophically declining by the early 1960s. The collapse also hit eagles and other raptors, probably caused by DDT. No previous owner marks. Text, photographs, maps, and charts all clean. Contains 32 pages of B&W photographs. This book is used and has been read. Minor to moderate foxing to page edges, heaviest on side page edges. Both ends of spine and all corners bumped. Some small loss of cloth at corners. Dust Jacket spine soiled and rippled. Minor to moderate soiling to DJ front and rear covers. Both ends of DJ spine have small tears. All DJ corners have small tears.
