Softcover, London: Hamish Hamilton, 1992. First Edition. Very Good+. Uncorrected Proof. SIGNED by Ackroyd in blue ink on the title page. There are several instances in the text of underlining in blue ink. I don't know if that was done by Ackroyd or a later owner. This book came from the estate of noted book collector Rolland Comstock. Comstock made a point of cultivating relationships with writers and did have the author's own copies of some titles, I just don't know if this particular book was simply signed by Ackroyd for Comstock, or if this book was actually Ackroyd's working copy for finding errors before publication. Very minor wear. A spot of soiling to side page edges, probably a thumb used to flip through the pages. This book was read, the spine is gently creased. Now protected in plastic bag.
