This book limited to 500 copies, this is number 384. Alfred Jacob Miller (1810-1874) was a Baltimore artist who was the first artist to the reach the interior of the Central Rocky Mountains in 1837. He left the only known illustrations of the first Fort Laramie. This book includes reproductions of those illustrations as well as explanatory text. Book has ver minor foxing to side page edges, moderate foxing to top page edges. A bit of shelfwear to bottom of spine and bottom corners. Dust jacket is clean and bright, small piece missing from bottom of DJ spine. Dust jacket protected in a clear plastic Brodart cover.
