Hardcover, London: William Heinemann, 1911. Very Good+. Signed by Arthur Rackham. This edition limited to 1,150 copies signed and numbered by Rackham, this is number 174. Bound in full vellum with gold decorations. Translated into English by Margaret Armour. Illustrated with 30 color plates tipped onto heavy brown paper. All 30 plates are present, clean, bright, and beautiful. All plates retain their guards. Silk tie present. Cream colored vellum binding is bright, gold decorations on front cover and spine bright. Front cover has a bit of age yellowing, but overall beautiful. Spine is only very slightly age darkened. Spine gently bumped at tail. Rear cover has a narrow 2.5 inch long scatch to the vellum. Also a .5 inch narrow scratch. Some plate guards spotted, but plates are completely clean. Pastedowns and endpapers have age spotting. Overall, this is a beautiful book that is well preserved, probably because it comes in its own custom case provided by the previous owner. This book has been kept in its case and out of the light for years. Custom case is blue with gold spine titles and is VG+/NF.
