About half of the tissue guards are present although age darkened. Also contains black and white illustrations in the text. Fold-out map present with no tears. Newspaper clippings attached to the front free end papers and the rear endpapers - first article about the authors of this book and the Great Salt Lake Trail, second article dated 1899 and is about the slaughter of the buffalo. Clippings aged and yellowed. Both ends of book spine rubbed with loss of cloth. Front and rear hinges cracked. Front hinge amateurishly repaired by previous owner. Corners rubbed with loss of cloth.
