Gulf of Mexico Basin Depositional Synthesis Project: Summary Report Phase I Project Atlas, August 1998

Spiral bound, Austin, Texas: University of Texas--Institute for Geophysics, 1998. First Edition; First Printing. Fine. The Gulf of Mexico Basin Depositional Synthesis (GBDS) is a comprehensive program of interpretation and description of the Cenozoic depositional history of the Gulf of Mexico basin that integrates well data from the onshore, shelf and upper slope areas with Feng's 1995(GBDS #179) seismic sratrigraphic interpretations of the deep basin. Principal products of the study include a (1) digital GIS(ArchInfo) database including all well and select seismic data points, representative well and seismic traverses, and Maps; (2) a user's manual for the database and customized ArcView tools developed in this project; (3) a bibliography of all sources used in data synthesis, and, (4) a folio of maps, cross sections, and seismic lines illustrating the information within the database and presenting our interpretation of the spatial and temporal distribution of genetic sequences, sediment dispersal pathways, and depositional systems that filled the Cenozoic Gulf basin. ; Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; 157 pages.
