Chief Red Fox was born on June 11, 1870 in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains, home of the Sioux. In his childhood Red Fox saw the destruction of the Native way of life on the Northern Plains, the killing of his uncle (Crazy Horse) , and the Massacre at Wounded Knee. He left the reservation to travel the world with Bufallo Bill's Wild West Show. Text and illustrations clean and bright. Covers of book slightly bowed. Front cover a touch soiled. Dust jacket is price clipped. Spine of dust jacket faded. Back cover of jacket has light staining that is much more noticeable on the inside of the jacket than the outside.
