This is their history of the Gulf Coast region of Texas from Spanish exploration to 1955 (the date of publication). The authors discuss the geographic, political, and economic history of the Gulf Coast region and place it in context with events in Texas, the US, and the world in general. Although the entire set is 4 volumes, the history portion of the work is fully complete in these first 2 volumes. The 3rd and 4th volumes deal with families of the Gulf Coast region. At the time of this writing, the entire set is not available on the market, and this is the only available set of the complete history portion.
