In 1878 about 300 Northern Cheyenne under Dull Knife and Little Wolf fled the shameful conditions of their Indian Territory reservation and attempted a peaceful return to their homeland in Montana. The US government broke their promise to allow the Cheyenne to leave the reservation and sent thousands of soldiers to forcibly prevent the Cheyenne's return to their homeland. In 1995 the author recreated the journey on foot and was joined by descendants of the Cheyenne. This book is about both journeys. Book is clean and tight and probably unread. No previous owner marks.
