The High Sheriff was the master of the county courthouse, feudal lord of the county territory, and keeper of the bloodhounds. His patrol car might appear on any road at any time. The author interviewed 20 sheriffs and included 11 of their best stories in this book. No previous owner marks. Text and photos clean and bright. Spine very slightly tilted. Page edges lightly soiled. Original price present on dust jacket front flap. Dust jacket is bright with very little fading.
