The author was raised by a well-to-do family, but left to make his own way in the American West in the years between the Spanish American War and WW I. He became a hobo with the eventual goal of becoming a writer. He changed jobs frequenty and worked as a piano player, railroader, miner, melon harvester, ranch hand, prospector, and gambler. Written when he was in his 80s, this book is his memoir of the "fiddlefoot" period. Very Good: previous owner name and date on front free endpaper. Book gently bumped at head of spine. Text, photos, and sketches clean and bright. Dust jacket is price clipped. Spine panel of dust jacket has moderate soiling. Top of spine panel bumped. Dust jacket now protected in Mylar.
