In 1859 Adolph Drewsen made a scrapbook for his grandaughter's thrid birthday. He cut out colorful prints from Danish magazines, German newspapers, and French picture sheets to fill the book. His friend, Hans Chrisitan Andersen helped him with the book and contributed five elaborate paper cuts of his own as well as several funny little verses. This is a replica of that one of a kind book. Footnotes and postscript by Erik Dal. Verses translated into English by Brian Alderson. Beautiful marbled endpapers. Rub mark to tail of spine with small loss of cloth. Illustrations are bright and beautiful. Top page edges tanned. Original price present on dust jacket flap. Two inch tear at top of front panel of dust jacket. Jacket bumped at both ends of spine panel. A few small tears along the top and bottom edges of the jacket. Jacket is bright with no fading. Dust jacket now protected in Mylar.
