A Texas Ranger A Facsimile Reproduction

Hardcover, Ruidoso, New Mexico: The Frontier Book Company, 1960. Very Good. Facsimile reprint (1960) of the 1899 original. Contains the entire text of the original. Napolean Agustus Jennings was a reporter who arrived in Texas in 1874. He joined up with McNelly's Rangers in South Texas for the fights with Cortina. In later chapters Jennings gives accounts of scraps with King Fisher's outlaws and John Wesley Hardin. There is some question as to the authenticity of the accounts. J. Frank Dobie believed in them, Walter Prescott Webb did not. No previous owner marks, text clean. Bottom of spine gently bumped, corners rubbed. Spine a bit age darkened. A bit of soiling to front cover. Ships same or next business day well protected in a box. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 321 pages. [Item #78899]
