Hardcover, New York: The MacMillan Company, 1931. First Edition. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. A biography of Henry Miller who came to the US from Germany in 1847 with $5 in his pocket. He became a butcher in California and then branched out into ranching. He died in 1916 owning a million acres of land in the US and a million head of livestock. Book's spine slightly slanted. Slight discoloration to book spine probably from sun. Previous owner signature dated 1932 on front free endpaper. Dust jacket price clipped. Small tears and chipping to both ends of dust jacket spine with 1x.25 inch piece missing from the top edge and a .5x.12inch piece missing from the bottom. DJ spine faded from the sun.
